Eugénie GRONDIN, intern student for 5 months at HEIG-VD with a fellowship of the Swiss European Mobility Programme (SEMP), is studying at Supméca Paris, a three-years selective graduate Mechanical Engineering School in France.

She previously had “Preparatory classes”, which consisted in two-years undergraduated, intensive and competitive courses in mathematics and physics in Reunion Island (Indian Ocean) preparing for entrance examinations to the French Engineering Schools.

At COMATEC-LANS, Eugénie GRONDIN is working on atmospheric plasma treatment for industrial applications.

Eleonora Frau, Physicist and scientific collaborator at HEIG-VD, has obtained her diploma at La Sapienza University of Rome in 2013, with a specialization in Solid State Physics and a diploma project on “Iron-oxide nanowires as anode for lithium-ion battery applications”.

During her scientific collaboration at EPFL, from 2014 to 2017, she applied her knowledge on semiconductor physics to materials science and electrochemistry, working on a project focused on the study of gallium arsenide and silicon nanostructures as photo-electrodes for a solar fuel cell. In this context, she acquired experimental skills in measurement techniques, with the aim of studying semiconductors surface and nanostructures. In particular, she has experience with scanning electron microscopy, scanning electrochemical microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-Ray spectroscopy, atomic layer deposition and chemical etching.

At COMATEC-LANS, Eleonora Frau performs applied R&D in the field of advanced materials for industrial applications.
