Dr. Lilia Castro Nicolli, materials engineer and scientific collaborator at HEIG-VD, has obtained her PhD at the University of Oslo in 2005. Her thesis on mathematical modelling of the solidification of metallic alloys, included numerical simulation (FEM), programming and experimental validation.

She also holds a Master in Industrial Technologies (HES-SO, 2020) with thematic focus on micro- and nanotechnologies. During her master thesis project she has acquired experimental skills in spin coating and inkjet printing of functional layers, experimental investigation of electrical properties of the resulting thin films, as well as numerical simulations of the electrical and thermal behavior of assemblies containing such thin films.

In addition to her scientific and engineering background, Dr. Lilia Castro Nicolli has acquired professional skills in R&D project management through several years of experience, being a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute - PMI.

At COMATEC-LANS, Lilia Castro Nicolli performs applied R&D in the field of nanocomposite materials formulation, manufacturing and processing for industrial applications.
